Get 5% Back On Grocery Purchases With Your Chase Freedom In Q2
The no-annual-fee Chase Freedom Card offers 5% cash back on rotating bonus categories every quarter, and the headlining category for April to June couldn't be more timely: grocery purchases.
The Discoverer has partnered with The Points Guy affiliate network for our coverage of credit card products. The Discoverer and The Points Guy may receive a commission from card issuers. The offers mentioned below are subject to change at any time and some may no longer be available.
5% Back On Groceries (and More)
Once you have the card, you can activate the offer here, and automatically receive your 5% back on grocery purchases in Q2 up to a maximum total spend of $1,500. The Q2 bonus also includes fitness centers and gym memberships, which is obviously a bit less useful given current events, but will hopefully come in handy later on in the quarter.
A note of caution though: the "Grocery Stores" category generally exclude superstores like Target and Walmart, wholesale clubs like Costco, and pharmacies like Walgreens. If you want to get the bonus, you'll need to go to a grocery store that specializes almost entirely in food.
If you don't yet have the Freedom Card, it's currently offering a $150 welcome bonus after spending $500 in your first three months, and 0% APR for your first 15 months (then a variable APR of 16.49 - 25.24%), all with no annual fee. In addition, if you have an Ultimate Rewards earning Chase card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or Chase Ink Business Preferred, you can convert your cash back into more lucrative Ultimate Rewards points to use on future travel, making those 5% bonus categories even more rewarding.
